Things are winding down and have been quiet at the garden center during the week. I was fortunate enough to get a contract until the end of March (my winter life!) and am now working 3 days a week in Bracebridge . Right now it is not logical to open when I am not around.
Until end of September we will open
Monday 10-4
Thursday 10-4
Friday 10-4
Saturday 9-5
Sunday 10-4
Or call 705 636 0927 to make an appointment outside of these hours. Cheers T

Crystal Bowl Workshops this weekend!
Crystal Singing Bowls . . . Canada
Advance Tickets
Workshop 1: Crystal Singing Bowls, Chakra Energy Centres and Life Lessons
Join us in a workshop which will resonate with your truth and raise your “Knowing” to a new level of awareness. A Crystal Singing Bowl is one of the most beautiful forms of Vibrational Therapy. Ann will provide basic information on sound vibration and its effect on physical and energetic bodies. Have you ever wondered why the same “lessons” keep coming around? Learn about the relationship between the chakra energy centres and the life lessons you are meant to learn; start to break the cycle of returning lessons by understanding why the lessons keep returning.
There will be opportunities for discussion, sharing and, of course, playing the bowls.
Sat. August 28, 2010 from 10am-12pm
Sponsored by: Fern Glen Farm and Garden Center

Concert: The Sacred Sound of Unconditional Love -
A Concert of Crystal Singing Bowls to Celebrate the Full Moon
Ann invites you to feel safe, accepted and loved unconditionally. Bring a lawn chair or lounger, lay down and let the sound wash over you. You can even bring a blanket and pillow to recreate the warm safe embrace of the womb. In this safe and gentle environment the luminous sound of Crystal Singing Bowls will realign the physical and etheric bodies into harmonic healing and balance.
Ann brings over 30 Crystal Singing Bowls to this concert, which will be as unique as the individuals who attend. The tones and sounds which come into being are in direct response to the needs of those in attendance. The safe and sacred space allows Crystal Singing Bowls to lift us to a state of altered consciousness where deep healing can occur. The group intent for joyful healing amplifies the power of the bowls and aligns our energy centers. You will experience inner peace, reduced stress and pure joy.
An evening of joyful harmony awaits you on: Sat. August 28, 2010 from 6pm-8pm

Celebrate the Full Moon
Join us in this opportunity to celebrate the past and open doors for the future.
The full moon symbolises our expectation for abundance, harmony and luck.
Workshop 2: Crystal Singing Bowls: Soul Zipper
If you are on the path of self discovery this workshop is designed to take you to your next level of soul development. While on this physical plane; a change in your life is inevitable. The Soul Zipper will provide you with the self knowledge and confidence needed for growth. We use the Crystal Singing Bowls to unlock chakra centres to expose the truths we learned as a child. Truths from childhood have become our base for life's decisions.
Maturation changes perceptions and we recognize on an intellectual level that there are certain truths which are different that those truths learned as a child. Intellectual knowing is not the same as knowing in the heart and soul. Until these truths are in harmony, life will be in conflict and growth will be limited. This workshop is for those who are ready to recognize their life lessons and deal with them from a base of safety and security.

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAYLILY FESTIVAL WEEKEND
When Saturday arrived and the sky looked grey we thought 'here we go again' ... another wet muddy festival weekend - why oh why. When Sarah Coombs arrived from the Radio Station and set up the remote - what a nice lady and very pretty - we were a bit glum, not many people milling around and even with give away competitions not the numbers we expected. BUT it did not rain! Bonus.
Then Sunday arrived and guess what .... PERFECT WEATHER!!!!!

4TH ANNUAL DAYLILY FESTIVAL JULY 24 & 25TH
We are getting excited as its almost Lily Festival time.
The field is looking pretty darn special right now and maybe this hot weather is pushing the mids a bit faster than I would like.
The bank .... not where the money is
For those of you who know we did major renovations in the fall of 08 and started planting up the bank - here are some shots of the progress

Today I was working in the heat trying to get some weeding done, once the plant material thickens in we won't be able to see the weeds ... well thats my theory!
Why not come pop past and see the progress - its quite phenomenal just how fast stuff is filling in.
I am a bad blogger!
It's not because I can't I just seem to be on the go doing other stuff all the time - loosing passwords doesn't help either!
Well after disasterous Mothers Day May picked up and was so busy we never even took photos, so here are a few from 1 June.

Mother's Day Weekend....
Our hearts were bleeding when we woke Saturday morning to a snow storm!!! What a shock from Mother Nature after all the wonderful weather we had been experiencing so far this spring. The roads were snow covered by 10:00 a.m. and it looked bleak for the our special speaker, Don Powers. Don was to be speaking on "Healing your Lawn" at 10:30 a.m.
Voila!!! Out of the snow they came!! Twenty four hardy gardeners eager to learn all about a new lifestyle for their lawns and gardens and to learn secrets of managing weeds and how to conserve water. It was a great event and very stimulating and useful to all who attended. The excellent coffee from Lily's Cafe warmed body and soul. Be sure not to miss our next free seminar. Look for upcoming details.

Free Coffee!!!
The Boss Terri has decided that she will give everyone who mentions reading the blog a free cup of coffee. Now, that makes it worthwhile to drive to Fern Glen Farm and Garden Centre just off of Fern Glen Road on Mason's Road in Emsdale!!! See you soon!!!
Welcome to Fern Glen Farm and Garden Centre
Here we are at Fern Glen Farm and Garden Centre, ready to welcome you to another year of great gardening. As you can see, we already have a gorgeous array of pansies and primroses to brighten up that sleepy looking garden of yours. Come on in and chose while there are so many different colours available. There are also some lovely primula that decided to winter over here and are showing off their new blooms.
The side yard is getting full of soil, mulch, manure and bags of "3 Way". There is a large pile of gravel and another of garden soil - dark enough to make a gardener drool!!!
Many perennials spent the winter protected here at Fern Glen. The staff have been busy cleaning this area up. New growth is peaking through everywhere. So exciting to see!!!
It isn't often that you see our greenhouse looking like this. Patiently waiting for the onslaught to come. Notice the new floor. Wow, it is beautiful!!!
